Discounting Gift Cards in fitDEGREE

You can apply both automatic and promo code discounts to gift card purchases, making it easier to run promotions and reward your clients. However, there are a few important things to keep in mind when using this new feature.

Key Features & Rules for Gift Card Discounts:

✅ Gift Card Discounts Apply on the Public App – Clients purchasing through the app can use discounts on gift cards, but this feature is not available for guests.

✅ One Discount Per Gift Card – You cannot stack both an automatic discount and a promo code discount on a single gift card purchase. Only one discount type can be applied at a time.

X No Purchasing Gift Cards with Account Balance or Another Gift Card – To prevent any loopholes, users cannot buy a gift card using another gift card or their account balance.

How to Apply a Discount to Gift Cards

1️⃣ Go to the Discount Setup Menu

• Navigate to Menu > Setup > Discounts

2️⃣ Select Your Discount Type

• Choose between Promo Code or Automatic depending on your use case.

3️⃣ Set Your Discount Parameters

• Define the amount or percentage discount.
• Enable any restrictions (e.g., “Once Per Customer” or “Minimum Purchase Amount”).

4️⃣ Apply to Gift Cards

• On the item selection screen, check off Gift Cards as an applicable item.

5️⃣ Create & Activate!

• Click Create, and you’re good to go!
